About the Course
AIM
Mastery of IELTS Scoring Techniques is a 3-month intensive course designed for prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students who want to prepare for and improve their IELTS reading, writing, speaking, and listening exams.
OUTCOMES
By the end of the course, participants will master essential answering techniques to excel in all four language skills assessed in the IELTS exams.

MODE
1. Online lecture
STRUCTURE
1. There are 3 annual intakes: January to March, May to July, and September to November.
2. Enrollment is open year-round.
3. This course is designed for a limited number of students.
4. Instructions are provided in English and summarised in Chinese if necessary.
5. 2 language skills are covered each week through in-class practice activities.
6. 6 topics for each language skill are taught for 3 consecutive months.
7. Weekly lessons are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8 PM to 9 PM (GMT).
8. No lessons will be conducted during the 5th week of the month.
9. The scheduling of lessons may be adjusted to accommodate public holidays.
DETAILS
a. Reading Skills
1. Development of problem-solving techniques for various question types in reading comprehension, including filling in blanks, True/False/Not Given statements, multiple-choice questions, matching tasks, and information extraction.
2. Integration of Cambridge IELTS materials and analysis of past examination questions to provide a thorough understanding of the reading section's format.
b. Writing Skills
1. Examination of high-frequency question types in Task 1 and Task 2, focusing on articulating opinions, discussing advantages and disadvantages, and reporting on data representations, including graphs and charts.
2. Utilisation of Cambridge IELTS writing resources and past examination questions to enhance writing proficiency.
c. Listening Skills
1. Comprehensive analysis of the listening test sections, emphasizing question types and comprehension strategies.
2. Classification of listening scenarios, vocabulary development, and problem-solving methodologies, excluding numerical questions and rental situations.
3. Skill development for addressing various questions, such as filling in the blanks and multiple-choice responses.
d. Speaking Skills
1. Creation of a question bank focused on high-frequency speaking questions to ensure a success rate of 95% to 100%.
2. Classification of problem-solving techniques for Parts One, Two, and Three of the speaking assessment, including strategies for interrogative responses and the use of effective collocations.
